Head Automatica - Laughing At You (Single) (4/5)

"Welcome to cardboard city"

A punchy start kicks this into a typical pop with a hint of rock beat. The up down vocals are just typical of H.A. Slightly diversing from the cheesiness of Beating Heart Baby this keeps a rock base to it but with just enough pop to keep them apart from mainstream bands. The vocals could be better in all fairness but it still will gain mass playback on my media player and satisfy most H.A fans.

Hoobastank - If I Were You (4/5)

A strange introduction to the new Hoobastank song, almost like a bed time song for a baby with childrens voices in the background. This drops and a much more refined voice than through the last album can be heard. Remaining calm and in perfect keeping with the tune. Only a minute in and you're already relaxed and feeling calm inside, even when after 2 miuntes the beat picks up the voice remains calm enough to lull you away from the world.

Quite a spiky guitar beats kicks in and makes the song about as heavy as Hoobastank ever get. It's nice to see them sticking to what they are reasonably good at.

Although never a huge Hoobastank fan this is a nice track that is by no means a number 1 but definitley a song which will be played a few times during stressful points i feel.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California (3.5/5)

"California Rest In Peace"

The Red Hot Chili Peppers return....

An easy beat to it makes it a song that you can't really hate easily but this song just feels like it's building up to something that it just doesn't manage to find. The nice guitar beat keeps it vaguely alive for me but it is truly no 'Under The Bridge' or 'Fortune Faded'. The Chilis seem to have slowed it down a bit but i have to say after a few listens my foot is tapping to it. Even though it doesn't stand out it's still a nice enough song however i hope the rest of the album lives up to 'By The Way' and doesn't loose the Chilis there high status they have worked so hard to get.
